April is Active Dog Month, so we've put together some of the best places where you and your canine family can explore and get some exercise.

When you move to a new area, it's important that you find places that are pet friendly. While you can always walk your dog in your neighborhood, you may want to explore the area a little to see what adventures are out there. Our real estate agents know many places where you can take your pet for a little exercise and fresh air. If you already live in the area, taking a minute to find someplace new to hang out for an afternoon can keep you from getting bored.

  • Castle Park Dog Park – Located on Castle Street in Crookston, Castle Park Dog Park offers free admission and free parking. It is open from sunrise to sunset and is surrounded by a fence so your dog can run free and get the exercise they need. The park is located close to many Crookston homes for sale so you can look while taking your pet to exercise.

  • Wildwood Park – Wildwood Park is 16 acres that are full of paths and green spaces where both you and your pet can explore to your heart's content. When you need to take a break there are benches throughout where you can sit back and watch your dog run and play. It's a great area if you like to jog or spend time with the kids. Bring your dog and turn it into a family day!

  • Rydell National Wildlife Refuge – If you love the call of the wild, then Rydell National Wildlife Refuge may be the place for you. When you want to look for East Grand Forks homes for sale and also find areas where your pets can roam, Rydell offers 2,200 acres that are open from dawn to dusk. Anytime you get to spend quality time in nature, it allows you to recharge your batteries.

  • Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge – Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge is one of many wildlife areas and nature preserves where you can take your dog and walk the trails. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the state and offers some of the most scenic views. This is one of many natural areas in the state where you can find wildlife in abundance.

  • Red River State Recreation Area – Located in East Grand Forks, the Red River State Recreation Area has trails, lakes, and green areas where you and your dog can spend the day looking for fun things to do. There are even a few bike paths to explore. No matter what type of exercise you enjoy, bringing your pet to a recreational area is sure to keep you going at full speed.

It's always fun to get to know the area. Take your dog and make a day out of it. If you are looking for a new home or happen to see one that you really like, contact us! We can schedule a tour so you can see if it is something you might be interested in pursuing! We are always here to help!
