Summer is coming to a close, so celebrate the end of the season with these Polk County activities.

Summer is starting to wind down, and fall is right around the corner. As the kids head back to school, most families focus on planning their fall activities. Our real estate agents know of many hidden gems families can add to their fall calendar of fun things to do. Whether it's dinner night with the family or hiking through a state park, Minnesota has something that everyone in the family will enjoy.

  • The Grape Mill – If you have been looking at East Grand Forks homes for sale and want to wind down with a good glass of wine and a few friends, The Grape Mill is the place to go. Sit in for a wine tasting or gather with your friends for one of the vineyard's regularly scheduled activities. When you are ready to close on your new home, stop in and pick up a bottle of your favorite wine to celebrate the occasion.

  • Moore Family Theatres – Movie nights are always a family favorite. Visit one of the Moore Family Theatres in the Crookston area. You can choose from the Fosston Theatre, Grand Theatre Crookston or the River Cinema. The theatres offer matinees, evening shows, and $3 tickets all day on Tuesdays! Take your kids to the movies and have a real old-fashioned movie experience. Find out what movies are playing and make a night of it!

  • Valley Corn Maize – The Valley Corn Maize is back! Located in East Grand Forks, the Krueger family has created a unique way for local families to have fun and learn a little about agriculture at the same time. The family has operated the farm for several generations and looks forward to sharing what they know with others in the community. Check out Sunflower Dayz, the Valley Corn Maize, and all the other activities they have planned for this fall season.

  • Crookston Sports Center – As the temperatures start to drop and you look for fun ways to stay active, visit the Crookston Sports Center. Join the walking program or grab a pair of ice skates and make a few laps around the rink. While you're there check the schedule and plan to attend one of the scheduled games for the Crookston Pirates. If you are out looking at Crookston homes for sale, stop in and check out all the features the center offers. It's a great way to stay active all year long!

  • Red River State Recreation Area – The Red River State Recreation Area is one of the best places in the area for spending time in nature. Walk the trails or take the kids to the park and have a picnic. Enjoy a day on the water or throw in a fishing line. You can even do a little bird-watching on the side. It's far enough from town to give you the solitude you yearn for but close enough to shop for anything you might need if you are camping.
