Hockey in Crookston

For local residents around Crookston homes for sale, winter sports are practically a part of their DNA. Our real estate agents and their families love to lace up their skates and hit the ice to practice their double Axels or refine their slapshot at these community facilities and activities.

  • Crookston Sports Center - 801 Fisher Ave., Crookston, MN 56716
The Crookston Sports Center blends state-of-the-art facilities with a nod to the city's heritage with historic memorabilia displayed in the upper concourse. In particular, the center participates in a number of energy-efficient initiatives that help to protect the environment. One such initiative involves reclaiming heat from the compressors that cool the ice and recycling the energy to heat the building. CSC has three NHL regulation-size ice rinks that are available for hockey, figure skating, and curling through March. In addition to ice skating and hockey sessions that are open to the public, the rinks are available for private rental at a rate of $140 per hour. Skate sharpening is available onsite for $5. Building hours are 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. daily. Visit the website calendar for days and times of open skating and hockey.

  • Crookston Figure Skating Club - Crookston Sports Center, 801 Fisher Ave., Crookston, MN 56716
Make those dreams of gracefully gliding across the ice come true in the Crookston Figure Skating Club. Their Basic Skills program involves a series of three levels, with each one building upon the skills learned in the previous class. For those who want to progress further, Free Skate, Synchronized Skating, and Ice Dancing programs are available. Snowplow Sam is for skaters aged 2-4, where they can learn the basics with a parent or trusted adult nearby. Students can try out to join the Sparkling Edge, which is the club's exhibition group that performs at hockey games and ice shows. All members also have the opportunity to participate in testing by the United Skates Figure Skating Association. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month at the CSC. The annual membership fee is $75.

  • Crookston Blue Line Club - Crookston Sports Center, 801 Fisher Ave., Crookston, MN 56716
Do you have a budding Connor McDavid in your family? The Crookston Blue Line Club has a mission "to support the opportunity for all youth to participate and play the game of hockey." Once a player has registered with USA Hockey (fee structure based on age), they're eligible for membership in the Blue Line Club. The $25 membership fee for Mini Mites, which is the youngest group, is covered by the BLC. Other groups include Mite 3/8U ($240), Squirt/10U ($290), Peewee/12U ($380), and Bantam ($400).

  • University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles Hockey - Crookston Sports Center, 801 Fisher Ave., Crookston, MN 56716
Enjoy the excitement of watching talented players fight for supremacy on the ice at University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles Hockey games. Younger players can also learn from watching seasoned players. Team rivals include such top schools as the University of Minnesota, the University of Wisconsin, and North Dakota State University. All games are streamed live on the NSIC Network, accessible through the school's website.
